The Institute of Internal Auditors’ (IIA) 2018 International Conference in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, begins today with a program that will address highly topical, global issues impacting the internal audit profession. The internal audit conference is estimated to be the largest gathering of internal auditors ever. The conference will take place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, part of the Dubai World Trade Centre complex, from May 7 to May 9.
With the theme “Connecting the World Through Innovation,” the program will include sessions exploring significant topics such as: business sustainability, digitization, dynamic internal auditing, emerging concepts regarding governance and risks, fraud and corruption, information security, healthcare and public sector auditing, exponential technology development and its impact, and other topical subjects related to internal controls and risk management.
Today’s program will kick off with a panel discussion exploring global issues impacting business, including insights from H.E. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, the UAE’s Minister of Economy. Throughout the event, more than 100 world-renowned speakers—including thought leaders, academics and leading internal audit professionals from around the globe—will participate in more than 70 sessions.
