President Donald J. Trump has ordered an internal audit of all federal agencies to make sure that only American citizens hold positions in federal jobs.
Trump is signing an executive order requiring all federal agencies to complete an internal audit that assesses the agency’s compliance with Executive Order 11935, signed in 1976 by President Gerald R. Ford, that requires federal agencies only hire United States citizens and nationals unless in exceptional circumstances where no qualified U.S. nationals are available. The order specifically targets H1-B work visa holders working on federal contracts in the United States.
