The Institute of Internal Auditors is waiving the application fee for the Certified Internal Auditor credential and offering a discount on CIA exam prep resources for the month of May, which is Internal Audit Awareness Month.

The certification demonstrates proficiency and professionalism in internal audit, while encouraging elevated trust and credibility with stakeholders. In addition, according to The IIA’s 2017 Internal Audit Compensation Study (U.S. responses only), internal auditors with the CIA certification earn an average of $38,000 more annually than those without the certification. Earning an IIA credential can also open doors to career-advancing opportunities, according to the IIA.

“The IIA chose International Internal Audit Awareness Month to launch this offer because earning the CIA is the optimum way to ensure understanding of the profession’s guiding framework, the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing, and how to apply Standards in the practice of internal auditing,” the IIA said in a release.
