The CEO and president of Make-A-Wish Iowa was fired after an internal audit uncovered financial irregularities, the board chairman Joshua Norton said in a statement.
Further investigations of the organization’s financials are ongoing and Jennifer Woodley, who was appointed CEO less than a year ago, was dismissed. Norton declined to give specifics about the extent of the irregularities.
“We have a significant responsibility to out donors, families and children to safeguard every dollar given to us,” Norton said in the statement. “Therefore, we will continue to work with our National Office as we review key expenditures and other transactions. Based on these findings, additional measures may be taken.”
