The latest Global Knowledge Brief from the Institute of Internal Auditors and CaseWare, “Four Steps to Starting Internal Audit’s Data Analytics Journey: Demystifying the world of data analytics,” outlines internal audit leaders’ experiences navigating these key steps, along with recommended tools to guide internal audit functions along the way. It helps practitioners walk the data talk to better drive efficiency, enhance coverage, and allow for the consideration of continuous auditing in certain scenarios.

Internal auditors are fundamentally risk-averse, but when it comes to adopting data analytics, it’s a risk well worth taking. It’s okay to be critical, even apprehensive, but there really isn’t a reason to stop moving forward in your function’s data analytics journey. For those who haven’t, it’s time to take that first step.
